Galaxy A07 landed globally in August. It’s also available in Pakistan as we speak. This newcomer should’ve brought the latest operating system at launch. But it stuck with the older Android 15 out of the box. Lucky for us, Samsung didn’t take long to update the phone to One UI 8 x Android 16 firmware.
The A07 is promised 6 years of updates. But it had to use one of them for the One UI 8. A075FXXU1BYJA is the build number. That’s something you’ll see on all A07 devices in the update menu. There’s also a size disclaimer we found in the changelog. This will cost you ~2.3GB of data. Better stick with WiFi when downloading the OTA package.
Galaxy A07 is built around a 6nm Helio G99 chip this time, which is way more potent than the Helio G85 they used last time on A06. So the company was able to stretch its resources a bit more to bring some extra UI enhancements and new features.
The full details are in the changelog. But we do have some of its highlights here. Some stock apps get a UI overhaul. Plus, the lock screen gets more customization options here. Quick Share now opens on the full screen instead of just a pop-up menu, and there’s a separate send and receive tab as well on the Samsung latest budget phone.
We hear some new visuals have also been added to the Weather app, mostly animations. A character appears on the screen and responds to the weather conditions. A swipe gesture has been added to the camera app that will hide all the menus and toggles.
Installing the update is as easy as always. All you need to do is go to Settings >> Software Update >> Check for Updates. Once Samsung unlocks it in Pakistan, your Galaxy A07 will connect to their servers and let you “Download and Install” that 2.3GB package.
