Samsung is committed to 6 years of OS updates on the cheapest phone they make, which is the ~$120 Galaxy A07. This phone got the One UI 8.5 update within a month of its stable release. Their software support simply can’t be rivaled. Even as we speak, they are working on the One UI 9 update for the Samsung Galaxy A07.

Someone saw the firmware file on the Samsung server with the code A075FXXU5DZF7 that obviously belongs to the Galaxy A07, and the leakers who originally made this discovery are claiming that it’s One UI 9. The X posts were shared by @Mohammed_K_2010 and @fahadalijaved.

The triplet firmware code was actually seen on the server in Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, and the Philippines, so the development is at full pace right now. The older One UI 8.5 was built on the QPR2 version of Android 16. The One UI 9 is obviously built around Android 17.

Specifics can’t be found at this point, since they are just internally testing this firmware, and there’s no beta update for it that can be used by real Samsung latest Galaxy model owners. But One UI 9 beta is present on other phones: Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus. We do have some knowledge of its upgrades.
We are talking about the Glassy UI effect at many places within the UI. New waveform animations are seen on the lock screen media control. The media button on the widget is circular now. Parental controls are moved out of Digital Wellbeing.

Google apps are now even more adaptive towards screens of different orientations and form factors. Contacts permission granted to any app would let that app access the whole list on your phone. One UI 9 Android 17 will only allow the app access to a single contact for which it asked permission.
Galaxy A07 and others may not be updated to One UI 9 for months. They first have to get out of internet testing and then hit the beta release. A stable update is launched after that. One UI 9 will debut on the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 phones next month. So the actual contents of the update won’t be a secret for long. Keep watching the news for updates.
