The iPhone launch event is fast approaching, and a leaker seems to have unraveled the exact details about the silicon used inside the upcoming devices. We are talking about the Apple iPhone 18 Pro/Pro Max and iPhone Ultra, which are supposed to use the same Apple A20 Pro silicon.
The images you see here and the key details were originally seen on Weibo from a Chinese leaker. What we have here is the chip’s blueprint on which its CPU and GPU are designed, and part of the space is used by the memory/LPDDR interface.
The source actually explained the whole chipset design in great detail. We found that Apple A20 Pro will keep the 2+4 core structure for a 6-core CPU. The E cores among them have 8MB L2 cache now, which is a tad bigger than A19 Pro’s 6MB cache.
Then there are the two bigger performance cores, which actually use the same 16MB L2 cache, no different than last year’s chip. The system cache that makes the real difference in performance has not been leaked yet. By the way, they are adding one extra core to the GPU on the Apple A20 Pro. You can see it in the blueprint as well. There are seven cores now, instead of six, and this could be a massive boon to iPhone 18 Pro’s graphics performance. The exact figures will be revealed at launch, though.
They’ve already decided to announce the new iPhone Ultra and iPhone 18 Pro duo on September 9, which is close. They won’t change the design on the iPhone 18 series, but Apple is considering three new colors that won’t clash with the previous ones.
iPhone 18 Pro may not have the silver finish if the reports are accurate, but there’s still a chance for a Sky Blue trim and Pure Black color. There’s no cosmic orange. Dark Cherry will be the hero color this year. Keep watching the news for more updates.
