This is Poco’s first phone with a 10,000mAh battery. They’ve launched the Poco X8 Power today with a midrange chip and semi-premium specs. This phone does have the signature yellow design from Poco, but it’s just a Redmi Note 17 Pro Max in disguise. You’ll find matching specs in every category.
The color and accents are different, but it’s definitely a rebranded Redmi Note 17 Pro Max with a square camera island that fits a 50MP main unit and an 8MP Ultrawide rear sensor. It’s not the camera that’s going to put this phone on the map. It has one of the biggest batteries you’ll see in the midrange.
The name says it all. Poco X8 Power is built around a 10,000mAh battery, which has a Si-C anode. There’s a 100W charging kit here, so the phone gets refilled quickly. And it also has reverse 27W wired charging, which gives backup to other devices. Its chip is one of the newest entries from Qualcomm.
They’ve put a Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 chip on the Poco X8 Power, which is linked to LPDDR5X 12GB RAM. There’s 128GB base storage at only UFS 2.2 speeds. But 256GB storage and above will give you UFS 4.1. The chip is considered midrange, but it shouldn’t have any problem running Hyper OS 3 and Android 16.
By the way, Xiaomi is willing to push 4 years of OS updates on the Poco X8 Power. The IP rating on this handset goes all the way up to IP69K, which not only makes it waterproof but also safe from boiling high-temperature liquids. There’s a 32MP camera on the front in a hole cutout.
The screen is also one of the best you’ll see in this category. It’s a big 6.83” AMOLED. The resolution and peak brightness are capped at 1.5K and 3500nits. It also pushes pixels at 120Hz. Poco X8 Power also has an HDR10+ rating and GG Victus 2 glass for safety.
This newcomer is pretty thick: 8.64mm. They’ve put the fingerprint reader on the screen, and there are dual speakers on the Poco X8 Power for stereo output. $380 (~PKR 106,000) is the official base price for the Poco X8 Power.
