Xiaomi 12 Lite Pre-release Benchmarks Confirm the Chip, RAM, and OS Specifications

Xiaomi 12 Lite has made a few headlines over the past few weeks. It wasn't announced alongside the other three Xiaomi 12 flagships, but the Lite edition's debut should be right around the corner because the pre-release benchmarks for the phone have started popping up online. We'll briefly cover the scores and specs here.

You can find the Xiaomi 12 Lite on Geekbench 5 (a popular cross-platform benchmark) under "2203129G." It rocks a mid-range Snapdragon 778G chip. So while the phone itself belongs to Xiaomi's flagship family, its performance won't hold up to flagship standards. You get 8GB of multitasking memory and the latest Android 12 x MIUI running on top of this hardware.

The benchmarks show that Xiaomi 12 manages 2864 points on multicore and 788 points on single-core tests. Note that pre-release scores can (sometimes) be unreliable. But these align perfectly with already available phones running the Snapdragon 778. This Qualcomm silicon features a 5G modem.

Xiaomi is no stranger to releasing dozens of variants under a single generation. But the new Xiaomi Lite mobile is the only edition coming out this year. The 4G version has been shelved.

Expect a featherweight design, a sharp and fluid 10-bit OLED screen, and a new-gen Samsung image sensor. The Xiaomi 12 Lite has already cleared several certifications around the globe, so it should be announced any day now.
