The new midranger was due for launch today, June 19th. And the Vivo Y500 has officially debuted in Pakistan right on the dot. As we told in our last coverage, this is actually a 4G device, not the 5G version we saw in the global market. Not only did they change its appearance, but the specs also seem a lot different. This is everything you should know.

The official Vivo Y500 listing has been added to the Vivo site. And they actually revealed the name of the chipset there. Apparently, it’s the Unisoc T7300 6nm engine at 2.2GHz. It will level the ground with Helio G99, if you want something to compare it with.

The phone is pretty much a midranger, other than performance or the camera. They put an 8100mAh BlueVolt battery on the Y500. It lasted 10 hours straight with mixed usage in the Vivo labs and still had 42% left in the tank. And the cell will recharge over a 44W input, which is not too shabby.

The screen on the Vivo new Y model is a 1.5K infinity HDR10+ AMOLED. It’s a 6.83” display, and the bezels are 1.35mm thin. AMOLED hits 2000 nits on HBM mode, 5000 nits at peak. This is also a 120Hz panel. The screen is actually perfect for a phone at this price. Good Job, Vivo!

Only two variants have come to Pakistan, and both have 8GB RAM. The storage varies, though. 128GB is the base option, or a 256GB upgrade can be had at a high price. More than performance or the camera, durability seems to be one of its main selling points.

Vivo Y500 is both IP68 and IP69 water/dustproof. It even has a military-grade shockproof design. Android 16 runs on it by default (OriginOS 6). Of course, it has tons of AI features. Dual stereo speakers output audio on the Vivo Y500.

There’s just a single functioning camera on the back: 50MP main (f/1.8) next to a 2MP bokeh lens. A 32MP front camera is used for selfies. The fingerprint reader is on the screen, and the WiFi is 5GHz. This newcomer doesn’t have the Infrared port. Vivo Y500 base price is Rs 99,999. Bigger storage option pushes the cost to Rs 109,999. These variants can be pre-ordered from June 20th and onward till 26th. Vivo Y500 will be available for purchase nationwide on June 27th. After-sales support includes a 1+1 year warranty, a 15-day free replacement warranty, and a six-month coverage for accessories.
