The basic Y500 device is already out there. It’s available in China as we speak. But the Vivo Y500 Pro is still under development. The phone was a mystery until now. There have been a few leaks, but they mostly talked about its camera. The company has now started teasing the handset in the Chinese market. Here’s what we found.

The phone looks quite similar to its basic sibling. That black circular disc in the top center seems identical on both models. The black crater in the middle is probably home to a dual-lens camera setup. The details we found suggest one of them is a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensor.
The other shooter could just be a 2MP depth mapper to help with bokeh shots. Flip it over and you’ll have a 32MP camera pointed at you through the screen. There’s a huge battery on this new handset. It’s smaller than the basic Y500, sure, but it’s still decent enough for an average user.

They’ve decided to outfit the Pro with a 7000mAh Si/C battery. The weight of this newcomer is said to be 189 grams, and the thickness is just 7.81mm. This all falls in the acceptable range. The Vivo new 5G mobile should keep the same 90W charging support that’s used by the basic version.

The screen looks good on paper and in images. There are razor-thin borders around it, and whatever black bezels you can see are made uniform. The panel itself is 6.67” AMOLED-type. We have 1.5K resolution here and a 120Hz refresh rate. There was no mention of the brightness on the teasers or the China Telecom listing.

We can confirm that the Y500 Pro is built around a Dimensity 7400 SoC and at least 12GB RAM. There may be 256GB and 512GB storage options at debut. The Pro also has a software advantage, it seems. Apparently, it’s coming with Origin OS 6 and Android 16 out of the box.
The last bit of detail we found in this early listing is an official IP69/IP68 water and dust-safety rating. They didn’t say anything about the price. But we did learn that its official launch date is November 10. We’ll do a full coverage for Vivo Y500 Pro when it debuts, so keep watching the news.
