Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra Might Bring a Noticeably Larger Selfie Camera Hole

Fans are concerned after a report that the Galaxy S26 Ultra has a bigger selfie punch hole. It will be harder to ignore and just as difficult to get used to. We just found a leak on X with the phone’s image. It showed the front design. The focus was kept squarely on the S26 Ultra’s Infinity-O cutout.

Your eyes will catch the punch hole difference in a snap. It’s good news for some, bad news for others. A bigger crop-out would’ve usually meant more light intake or a bigger sensor. But the S26 Ultra is sticking with the same selfie sensor as last time.

The change isn’t functional, which is the actual bad news. From what the internet has speculated so far, this is just another aesthetic change. They are only doing it to streamline the selfie cutout with the phone’s corner radius. But nothing can be said for sure at this moment.

The leak source has confirmed the size of the Infinity-O cutout. It’s apparently 4mm in diameter. That number is not just a guess. The image you see here may have helped with the calculations. It’s still a big “if” though. We are still trying to determine the credibility of this image, which is the entire basis for this claim.

The S25 Ultra’s small camera cutout looked better with sharper corners, of course. The 4mm punch hole on the Samsung new Ultra model design fits. But this is still the largest cropping we’ve ever seen in the Ultra class. It will be much more noticeable to the user than before.

The basic S26 and S26 Plus already use bigger Infinity-O cutouts. We assume they will remain unaffected by the change in the Ultra sibling. The leaker seems to think that this is a cost-cutting measure. But there’s surely more nuance to it. We’ll keep you posted on further developments.
