Galaxy A58 was leaked with camera details yesterday, and it was disappointing, to say the least. It has no hardware upgrades. And the second-rank Samsung Galaxy A38 will be no different if this leak pans out. A new report from GalaxyClub talks about the newcomer’s camera setup.

Samsung Galaxy A38 copies the exact hardware A37 uses for its optics. This newcomer will be an underwhelming release if that claim proves legit. No upgrade means we’ll be stuck with the same rear 50MP main camera on the Samsung Galaxy A38.
The main camera won’t be alone, by the way. They’ll reuse the 5MP macro and 8MP Ultrawide units on the back. And of course, there will be a 12MP selfie camera on the front. The others will be bare-bones, but the main sensor gets OIS and AutoFocus.
Now, we all know that resolution doesn’t really define the camera quality on modern phones. You have to look at factors like sensor size, aperture, and even image signal processing to really squeeze the best image quality out of your camera clicks. The report prattled on about the camera resolutions, but it didn’t really comment on the sensor size or aperture. There’s still a chance that resolution will stay consistent. But there will be new, bigger sensors. It’s Samsung we are talking about, so most of the camera gain will come from the ISP optimizations.

They always work on the image signal pipeline to get better-quality images from the camera. We don’t think this year’s going to be any different. Quality upgrades usually add more dynamic range and reduce noise from the photos and post-processing.
Of course, they will eventually run into a physical barrier, and at that point, Samsung will need to bring newer sensors into the picture. Galaxy A38 is also reported to have an upgraded chip, possibly the Exynos revision from the Galaxy A56. Keep watching the news for more updates.
