Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge & S26 Ultra Surface in the Global IMEI Records

It goes without saying that Samsung is secretly working on next year’s Galaxy S26 series. It’s said to include at least four models, two of which have already made an appearance on the GSMA database. We are talking about the Galaxy S26 Ultra and the Galaxy S26 Edge.

The IMEI listings on the database are proof that the Galaxy S25 Edge will not be a one-and-done deal. This category will continue to evolve, and the next variant is going to be S26 Edge. GSMA has also spilled the phone’s model number, which is “SM-S947U.”

There are two model numbers for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. GSMA gave up the code “SM-S948U” with the letter “U” at the tail end. It’s probably the US variant. The other one assigned with the model number “SM-S948N” has the letter “N,” which means it’s for the Korean market.

We haven’t seen or heard about the base S26 and S26 Plus, but the IMEI certifications for the other two mean they are close. We’ll see the vanilla and the Plus variants on GSMA’s IMEI database in no time. The usual trio’s continuation is no surprise to us. But the S26 Edge’s certification on IMEI adds a spicier twist to the story.

The Edge seems to be a category dedicated to the latest Samsung flagship mobiles. The original model, which is the S25 Edge, only measures 5.85mm slim. But, its small battery size has rendered it an enthusiast phone with little to no interest from a general user.

We now have proof that Samsung wishes to give the Slim device another chance. Next year, it’s going to be reincarnated as the Galaxy S26 Edge with an even better chip and more battery efficiency. Or at least that’s what its Exynos 2600 (2nm) SoC aims to bring in 2026.

The dual chip strategy was disrupted this year, but Samsung is doing everything in its power to make sure it doesn’t happen again. The company will ship the S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra with either the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 or its own Exynos 2600 chips. We even hear reports of a One UI 8.5 coming to the S26 series. Stay tuned for more details as we continue to explore the internet for further developments.
