August 2026 patch has had a slow rollout for some reason. It was late, even for the Galaxy S26 series. Samsung Galaxy S25 series is also getting the update right at the end of the month. But it’s better late than never. This is everything you should know about the update.
This new August 2026 security update is being pushed to all three S25 devices in Korea before they begin global deployment, and possibly reach Pakistan by the end of the cycle. 558.91MB is the reported size of the update, so it will be a quick download to boot.
The firmware in the OTA package is S93xNKSSCCZH2. We assume this update is here to make the One UI more secure, and not for any new features or performance tweaks. There were 56 weak points in the old system that could be exploited by cyberattackers.
38 of them are CVEs for the core Android, and they come from Google itself. There are 18 other SVEs that Samsung disclosed to patch up any security loopholes in their One UI. By the way, there are at least 8 patches in the update that are marked critical for security. Anyway, South Korea is where the updates usually start their journey, and they always reach other countries with a delay. So we’ll be seeing the August 2026 patch in Asia soon enough, and within a few days, Pakistan will have the update as well.
What you can do right now is check regularly for the update. There’s a “Check for Update” section in the Software Updates menu in Settings. The update will unlock in a few days, and you’ll be given a prompt to “Download and Install” the August 2026 security update. A quick reboot should bring you to the latest build once the process is complete.
