Since the rollout of the latest A series is all wrapped up, Samsung is moving on to the next generation of Galaxy A phones. A reputable source based in Korea reported early details of the Samsung Galaxy A73. It’s not slated for release until the first half of 2021, but the leak gives us a sneak peek into this premium mid-ranger.

Courtesy of the South Korean publication The Elec, we learn that the manufacturer is porting over the ultra high-res cameras from the Galaxy S to the Galaxy A family. The Samsung Galaxy A72's successor aka the A73 will be the first to feature a 108MP lens powered by OIS (optical image stabilization.)

Based on an educated guess, the companion lenses should include super-wide, telephoto, and macro cameras. Plus, a 32MP front camera. Samsung might revisit the design and layout of this camera cluster, however.

The Galaxy A73 will be powered by Qualcomm silicon. To speculate further, the Snapdragon 778G on Samsung's new model phone for 2021 is a likely suspect. It could work with 8GB of memory and 128GB of internal storage. By 2022, the A73 comes out, Samsung will have released the OneUI 4.0, built on Android 12.

Samsung Galaxy A73 might be rated IP67 against water and dust. The screen should feature a high refresh rate and a fingerprint scanner. Unless the phone maker is planning on a downgrade, we can expect a bump in battery life thanks to the more efficient chip.
