Samsung Galaxy A53 October Update is Out; Enhanced Security and Privacy

Samsung ranks second only in the industry for OS updates and patch releases after Apple Inc, which somehow manages to give its devices a whopping 5 Year iOS update support. The Samsung One UI does not disappoint either, the devices like Samsung Galaxy A53 come with four years of OS updates and five years of security patches.

But the promise mentioned above only applies to their latest products, which include this year's A-series phones and flagships. The Korean tech giant released a July update for the Samsung Galaxy A32 4G, followed by a recently aired September 2022 security update to Galaxy A52s. In immediate succession, the brand's infant A53 5G is already hailing the October 2022 patch.

At this point, only a handful of European countries have received Samsung's official OTA upgrade. Based on PAK's consistent month-after-month Galaxy A53 OTA's and Samsung's usual update broadcast, the October patch should air in Pakistan soon enough.

Upon availability, A53 users will receive an alert to initiate the installation; to do it later, open the Settings app on the new Samsung Galaxy mobile, head on to "Software updates," and tap the "Download and Install" button; the phone will take care of the rest. Let's take a look at the patch's fixes and upgrades.

The update takes the firmware version to "A536BXXS4AVJ1," and 18 additional patches secure unauthorized access and fix over 32 vulnerabilities susceptible to call information, the device's serial number, configuration data, and secure memory content access. There aren't any UI-based improvements this month. The update is more security oriented than user experience.

To recall, you get a quad rear-cam setup in the Samsung Galaxy A53 package alongside a 120Hz, 1080p AMOLED screen. Over five storage/RAM assortments teamed with an Exynos 1280 SoC. An optical fingerprint scanner sits under the display, with the whole system powered by a 5000mAh battery and 25w charging.
