Redmi 15 will hand over the reins to Xiaomi Redmi 17 5G this year. Yes, it skips one generation, something they’ve been doing with all their lineups lately. The launch is yet to come. Though most of its specs were already seen in certifications. It was listed at SIRIM as well as NCC. This is everything we know so far.

Malaysian regulatory body is SIRIM. And NCC is a Taiwanese regulator. The fact that Redmi 17 was greenlit by these two platforms is conclusive proof. This newcomer will be made global right from the start. There’s also a clue in the phone’s model code if it helps.

26062RN92G is the code they’ve used on these certifications. The letter “G” can be seen at the end, so you can safely bet it’s a global version. Anyway, these certification listings were a big help. We found exactly what storage options the Redmi 17 5G will have.

There are four trims: 4/64GB is the bottom line. And you move up from there. 4/128GB and 4/256GB options are also coming. We presume the most decked-out and pricier version is 8/256GB. There’s more. Even the battery capacity came up in one of the listings. By the way, Here is the latest Xiaomi mobile price updates for every Redmi, POCO, and Xiaomi model.

By the way, Redmi 17 5G made a cameo in the TUV database once. We cross-checked the numbers. The phone does have a 7500mAh cell. Charging speeds were also present in the very same place. The charger model is MDY-17-EN. That would mean 45W input.

There’s an IP64 rating here. So it’s just a basic splashproof build. Of course, Redmi 17 is 5G. It must have a chipset like the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 from Redmi 15, or there could be something better. We’ll see dual-band WiFi on it.

Last year’s Redmi 15 5G came in August, so we are hoping that the timeline will repeat itself and the Redmi 17 5G will go official sometime after the Redmi Note 17 series, which is actually scheduled for July 2026. Keep watching the news for more updates.
