Xiaomi Redmi 17 4G is another phone they’ve been working on in secret. It’s from the budget class, and of course, meant for the whole international market. They got it cleared for Europe recently when it made the EPREL listing. And today, a leak has confirmed pretty much everything about this newcomer.

The chipset has been a confusing topic for the Redmi 17 4G. Everyone assumed that it had a Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 4G SoC only because Redmi 17’s model number matches the Poco C95 Pro 4G. But the leak pegs an entirely different brand of chipset for the newcomer.

Xiaomi Redmi 17 4G might put a 12nm Helio G91 Ultra chip on board. We assume the performance is the least of its priorities, but then again, it’s a sub-entry phone. The display isn’t any better, because according to the leak, it’s lugging around a 6.9” 720p HD+ resolution IPS screen.

IPS’s HBM brightness should hit 825nits. 8-bit colors and an 83% NTSC color gamut range are covered by the LCD panel, by the way. There’s an RGB light notification indicator on the back, and we have Gorilla Glass 7i at the front. This was found in an older leak. In this article here is the latest Xiaomi Price Catalog with updated smartphone prices, specifications, and best deals.

It would seem the Redmi 17 4G is 8.8mm thick (at 232 grams). It has full dust ingress safety but minor water protection with its IP64 rating. A huge 7500mAh battery is put inside the device, which would explain the thickness and weight.

The cell will refill over a 45W fast charging input. We can’t tell if the phone has a notch or not. Redmi 15 4G didn’t have one. But did learn from the leak that its selfie camera is 8MP only and the main camera is a 5P glass 50MP f/1.8 sensor. These will do 1080p 30 FPS recording.

Of course, you get the essentials too. There’s a side fingerprint reader on the viral fact sheet, and a face unlock option. WiFi is dual-band. Hyper OS 3 Android 16 will come by default on Redmi 17 4G. The pricing hasn’t come up in leaks so far. Keep watching the news for more updates.
