Realme GT 8 series is about to launch in China, and today, we finally have the exact date. They have already started teasing the lineup, and in a recent social media post, the company announced the launch schedule. The new collection, which we assume includes a GT 8 and GT 8 Pro, is closer than you think. Here’s all we know so far.

The teasers only talk about the GT 8 Pro, but there’s a possibility that the Realme GT 8 will debut on the same day. Still, let’s stick to the details Realme has decided to expose to the fans. Realme GT 8 series is going to debut next week, on October 21st. And the event seems to be scheduled at 15:00 sharp (Beijing time).

The GT 8 series debut is less than a week away, which is cutting it pretty close. Therefore, we are witnessing a string of teasers on social media with Realme GT 8 Pro’s key specs. The details are limited right now, but they are slowly building up to a full reveal.

Realme fans will be happy to know that the Realme new GT model has plenty of upgrades over the previous generation. Obviously, the handset’s biggest enhancement will be the chipset. Out goes the SD 8 Elite and in comes the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 onboard the Realme GT 8 Pro.

The platform swap boosts the clock speed to 4.6GHz, assuming they mounted a standard 8 Elite Gen 5 version on the phone. The details Realme shared on Weibo are a bit vague on this topic, but as far as we know, this is the fastest chip on the Android platform right now.

Thermal bottlenecks are a concern for this SoC, but Realme is expected to treat that with a proper cooling solution. This is a gaming phone, so a high refresh rate 144Hz screen is also guaranteed. Realme says that a custom dedicated R1 gaming chip will help drive the pixels on this display.

We found some other official specs while scouring the internet. Apparently, Realme GT 8 Pro uses a 7000mAh battery this time with the same 120W charging as the old phone. The wireless charging will be 50W. Realme hasn’t revealed all of its specs, so we have to wrap up the news here. We’ll come back with another report as soon as we have something new. Stick around for updates.
