The Huawei Nova 7 series is set to launch tomorrow, but ahead of its launch, the Nova 7 and Nova 7 Pro have been spotted in the flesh. The leak comes in the form of a hands-on video shot in a phone store that has the duo on display. It gives a 360-degree preview of the models, along with the hardware details, no word on the Huawei prices yet.
Huawei Nova 7
Let’s start with the standard edition. The Huawei Nova 7 shows off a quad-camera, stacked in a vertical array, featuring a 64MP main camera (as seen in the ‘About’ section), and an 8MP + 8MP + 2MP configuration. The ensemble allows for up to 10x Digital Zoom.
The overall design isn’t far off from the still-recent Oppo Find X2 series. You get a polished, reflective, silver glass panel on the back, contrasted by a rectangular black housing. Go around the front, and you’ll find a single punch hole resting in a corner, inside a 6.53-inch OLED screen. The front camera is a 32MP shooter.
Inside the Huawei Nova 7, a Kirin 985 platform runs things, in addition to 8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of storage. The chipset has a 5G antenna baked into it. The battery details aren’t listed, but the hardware is powered by the latest EMUI 10.
Huawei Nova 7 Pro 5G
The ‘Pro’ edition shares its Kirin 985 SoC and 5G modem with the standard variant and combines it with a 4,000 mAh battery that supports 40W fast charging.
It does offer a step up in camera performance (more on that in a few) and the build. The display measures 6.57 inches, curves around the edges, and delivers an FHD+ resolution. In its corner, you’re looking at a pill-shaped punch hole that houses its 32MP + 8MP dual front cam. The panel itself, however, is still an OLED display that operates at 60Hz.
The quad-camera setup in the Nova 7 Pro is much more robust. By comparison, it features OIS and incorporates an 8MP periscope module that allows for up to 5x optical zoom. The pixel count for each sensor remains the same, though.
The duo comes in Red, White, Black, Green, and Blue colors, as might the third edition: the Huawei Nova 7 SE. We’ll have the Official Huawei price tags and availability details for you as soon as the handsets get launched.
