Oppo A7 Pro Max will launch tomorrow in China at 2:30 PM local time. Yes, the schedule has been announced, and right now they are teasing the capabilities of its camera setup. They dropped a few image samples today and gave us the exact lens configuration. This is what you’ll see on the Oppo A7 Pro Max.
They say it’s the best camera they’ve ever put on an Oppo A series device, and it tracks. This is a phone with a 50MP selfie camera. At least in well-lit areas, this sensor has punchy colors, and the dynamic range is quite high, if we go by the samples here.
By the way, this 50MP front snapper has a 100-degree FoV, so you can pretty much fit your whole group in selfies. It’s a rare feature, and shutterbugs are definitely going to appreciate it. Then comes the 50MP main camera to match the one in the front. Of course, it does have OIS, so images rarely get out of focus. Videos will be stable too.
There’s just one other image sensor on the phone. It’s 2MP monochrome. The flash is put all the way to the right, far from the lenses. This will help the portraits and low-light photos. They can’t make the camera more elaborate than this. The Oppo latest A mobile is from a budget series at the end of the day.
It’s not just the optical setup. The A7 Pro Max teasers have been piling up for a few days, and we learned that the handset is built around a 1.5K OLED at 6.78”. The refresh rate on this OLED is plain 120Hz. This will be a big, chunky device with a silver lining.
Oppo A7 Pro Max is the only commercial phone they have with a 10,000mAh battery. It’s their first device with a cell in the 10K range. The charging will be 80W, so the refills should be quick enough. And it seems Oppo has put the Color OS 16 (Android 16) on this device.
There haven’t been many phones that used a Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 chip. The A7 Pro Max has that chip, so the performance is hard to judge and comes with a big asterisk. We also found that its RAM splits into 8GB and 12GB variants. 128GB is the basic storage, upgradeable to 256GB or 512GB.
