There are no camera upgrades for the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE, at least not in the form of hardware. And this isn’t a surprise either. The FEs have been dragging along the same optical setup for years. Android Authority got the news first from their source, and this is what they reported.
The handset will probably show up in late August or Early September, for all we know. So we are in the final stretch. What we learned about the Galaxy S26 FE (codename R14) is that its cameras will get the image boon from processing, not from the hardware.
It will keep the old 50MP ISOCELL GN3 outsole. That will be the main shooter. It has a 1/1.57” sensor size and dual-pixel autofocus. And yes, there’s also OIS for stabilization. Then comes the S26 FE’s Ultrawide sensor. It’s exactly what they used last year on the S25 FE: 12MP GalaxyCore GC12A2.
The telephoto hasn’t changed either. Its 8MP OmniVision OV08A1 at 3X zoom with OIS. And they are going to put a 12MP Sony IMX825 camera on the front. The leak does say that each camera on the S26 FE can do 4K 60 FPS video. And you can even push the recording to 8K 30 FPS. It can push those numbers quite easily with the Exynos 2500 that has been rumored quite a few times for the Galaxy S26 FE. The new chip also has the potential to make the image processing slightly better. This won’t be a generational upgrade, though.
We have also heard that they are bumping its price. The Galaxy S26 FE, at least in Europe, is putting €50 extra on the price tag. There’s still 8GB or 12GB RAM on it, and storage of 256GB or 512GB. There’s possibly a 4900mAh battery on the newcomer and 45W fast charging. Keep watching the news for more updates.
