Apart from the palm jabbing corners, the designs were never a sore point for Galaxy S devices. But you have to evolve with the times, and that’s exactly what’s happening to the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Samsung wants to make this phone thinner, but without any cost to the camera quality, which is why the phone now looks like this.
There was another render leak today that confirms suspicions about the new Galaxy S26 Ultra design, and if the camera island looks familiar, you are probably thinking of either Galaxy S25 Edge or Galaxy Z Fold 7. So, get ready to see a dual-layer camera bump on the S26 Ultra.
At the rate these render leaks are popping up, it’s getting harder to deny they are real. The image shared by @TarunVats on X has put the Galaxy S26 Ultra in some sort of folio case with a flap to cover the screen. This is probably an unfinished advertisement from some case manufacturer.
The image doesn’t tell us the exact source, but the Samsung latest flagship model design is laid bare in this computerized render, which tells us a few things about this handset. Samsung is making the phone rounder on the corners, but the sides are completely flat, just like before.
That vertical camera mount is a visual anomaly. Half the lens setup (the three main lenses) is installed on a raised camera island, similar to what we have on the Galaxy Z Fold 7. But the ToF and 3X Telephoto sensors protrude from the body directly, with a flash in the middle.
There’s another subtle hint in the image that may address the rumors about Qi2 Magnetic charging support on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, but take it with a hint of salt. The folio case has a circular ring on the back, possibly where the magnetic charging coil lies.
We have already seen some colored renders and the alleged Orange finish that may come with S26 Ultra, and possibly lead to a squabble between Samsung and Apple fans. Again, these renders appear on the web with loose credibility, so we advise taking them with a grain of salt until we have an official comment from the company.
