Galaxy A57 to Debut Exynos 1680 with Bluetooth 6.1; Galaxy A37 Appears on Test Servers

Galaxy A37 made its first appearance yesterday on Samsung’s test servers. That’s how we knew the phone’s in development and right on track for debut next year. We also have an eye on Galaxy A57. That pricier model ran a GPU benchmark back in August. It runs on an Exynos 1680. Now we learn what kind of connectivity this chipset offers.

These details were just seen on Bluetooth SIG. The Exyons 1680 platform has apparently scored an official certification for Bluetooth v6.1. That’s the latest standard of BT connectivity. This is a bold move on the company’s part.

The older BT 6.0 standard hasn’t even left the flagship range yet, and we now hear its successor may be coming to a midrange phone like the Galaxy A57. It sounds even more impressive if you put it next to A56’s measly Bluetooth 5.3. The jump to Bluetooth 6.1 on Galaxy A57 is quite significant.

That new Bluetooth version for the new Samsung 5G mobile apparently uses less battery to run. It brings even more privacy than v.6.0. The chipsets from this specific series usually come out earlier than the phone itself. The Exynos 1580 dropped in October 2024, so we assume the Exynos 1680 is right around the corner.

We know a few facts about the Exynos 1680, even though Samsung hasn’t officially released this SoC yet. These details were exposed on Geekbench. The 1680 has 8 cores. There’s an XClipse 550 GPU in here at 1306 GHz. It runs all the GPU tasks on AMD’s RDNA 3.5 architecture.

The A37 gave up no such details. Its SoC is still a secret, and so are the connectivity options. But the phone was discerned by a leaker who found its firmware build on Samsung’s test servers. A37’s model number is SM-A376U. We believe “U” hints at the USA version here.

It could be one of those carrier-locked versions in the US market. We are constantly looking for more details on both Galaxy A57 and A37. We’ll let you know if there are any more developments. You should keep an eye out for updates in the meantime.
