Last year’s iPhone 17 Pros had an issue with the paint job. Their colors started to fade within months of launch. And it’s happening again on the Apple iPhone 18 Pro series. Apparently, customers are complaining about the discoloration around the camera lenses.
Cosmic Orange iPhone 17 Pros were the main victims of Apple’s neglect of quality, and we saw hundreds of complaints from customers about the iPhone’s color turning light. Not to the same scale, but the same thing happened with the Deep Blue Color.
This issue should’ve been fixed in the new generation. But that’s just a pipe dream at this point. The paint is starting to fade on the Burgundy and Black iPhone 18 Pro, specifically around the lenses. The light silhouette can be seen in the images Reddit users shared today.
Of course, we’ll be seeing more posts like this on and off. The slight discoloration around the cameras may not be a big deal right now. But we have to warn you, folks. The pale color starts at the lenses and spreads to the whole chassis, just like it did with the iPhone 17 Pro. Meanwhile, take a look at the Latest iPhone Price before deciding which iPhone deserves your money.
We have already observed a few subreddits where users share pictures of their partially faded Black and Burgundy iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max. Not exactly sure what causes it. But there is a common factor here. The issue began when the phone sat in the sun for a while, so UV may be causing it.
Again, people are trying to work out why the color fades on the new iPhone. Seeing how prevalent this issue was last year, Apple should have done something about it. Yet here we are. All we can do is wait for the company to acknowledge the problem. Even then, it’s not exactly a software issue that can be fixed with an update. You will likely end up using your faded iPhones indefinitely. Let’s see what Apple does next. Keep watching the news.
