The prices for Samsung’s new S26 devices have gone up. So many will look for affordable alternatives, and Poco is confident that its X8 lineup will fill the void. The company posted a new teaser no X. They troll Samsung on the tweet and simultaneously convince people to wait for the better option, aka the Poco X8 series.
Samsung made a big deal of how its new devices aren’t just smartphones, but AI phones, which honestly isn’t as big a deal as the brand made it out to be. Poco obviously has an ace up its sleeve, and it’s waiting for the right time to reveal it. Hence, the mild jab at Samsung.
The teaser clearly says smart minds will wait for smarter phones. If it wasn’t clear, they are mocking Samsung for calling its devices AI phones instead of Smartphones. People with high IQs will wait for what’s coming next.
Again, they didn’t say the exact words, but they are trolling Samsung and teasing Xiaomi's latest X mobile lineup all at once. There are two devices seemingly on their way. One is the Poco X8 Pro, and the other will be the Poco X8 Pro Max. We know that those two phones are actually just rebranded Redmi Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max.
Poco and Redmi phones are regionally exclusive to one another. And there’s often battery disparity among these handsets. Poco X8 Pro and Pro Max have dropped the capacity. The basic Pro version downgrades to 6500mAh (from Redmi’s 7560mAh). And the Pro Max is 8500mAh (from Redmi’s 9000mAh cell)
There shouldn’t be a difference in the screen quality or the SoC, since these Turbo and X8 devices are basically the same thing. There’s possibly a Dimensity 8500 Ultra chip on the X8 Pro. And there’s a little faster Dimensity 9500s on the X8 Pro Max.
A 6.59” screen AMOLED 120Hz with 1.5K resolution seems plausible for the Poco X8 Pro. Turbo 5 Max or the Poco X8 Pro Max is way bigger at 6.83” AMOLED, 120Hz with 1.5K resolution, and 3500 nits brightness. This is the beginning of a teaser spree, which means the official details are also around the corner. Keep watching the news.
