Xiaomi Poco F7 Secures Another Certification Ahead of Expected Launch in May

The only variant missing from Poco’s new flagship series is the base “Xiaomi Poco F7.” After the Poco F7 Pro and F7 Ultra’s global debut and their recent launch in Pakistan, the company is hard at work, making the final preparations for the vanilla Poco F7. Ahead of its rumored launch in May, Singapore’s IMDA authority has certified the device in their region.

IMDA database was updated a few hours ago, and a new Xiaomi model was added to the listing with product code “25053PC47G.” The letter “G” means this is a global variant and should be widely available. Since the F7 Pro and Ultra siblings landed in Pakistan, we have high hopes for the Poco F7 to launch in our market as well.

If the rumors are to be believed, the Poco F7 is actually a rebranded Redmi Turbo 4 Pro from the sister brand. In that case, we don’t need to wait for the company to reveal its specifications. There’s a chance that this new device is based on the latest Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 platform.

This is a chip with eight cores, a dual-core NPU, and a 3.2GHz clock frequency. It’s rumored that the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 is a bit faster than last year’s SD 8 Gen 3, except for the GPU performance. But this is a bleeding-edge SoC with all the latest bells and whistles. Not to forget a much better AI processing than before.

Poco F7 (the rebranded Redmi Turbo 4 Pro from China) is built around a 6.83” flat 120Hz OLED panel with LTPS technology and around 1.5k resolution. There are slim bezels all around this display with a small dot-hole for its 20MP selfie camera. Also, Xiaomi's new Poco model has HDR10+ and 3200 nits peak brightness.

A Si/C Li-Ion power source with 7550 mAh capacity lies inside this newcomer. Such a massive battery has been fitted into an 8mm chassis. Wireless charging is missing from this device, but the wired input is pretty fast at 90 watts. The rear camera is a combo of 50MP Main and 8MP Ultrawide, which is a standard affair in the midrange category.

Since it’s been challenging for Xiaomi to get clearance for high-capacity batteries across global markets, we might see Poco F7 get a smaller power source outside China. The phone is meant to launch in May, so we’ll soon know what other caveats await Poco F7 on the other side of the manufacturing pipeline. Stay tuned for the upcoming debut.
