Xiaomi Poco F7 is back in the headlines. The phone will soon launch and join the Poco F7 Pro and F7 Ultra to complete the set. There’s no official word on its design yet, but someone has tipped Poco F7’s renders ahead of its debut. The origin of these viral images couldn’t be found, so treat them with a healthy dose of sarcasm until their credibility is proven.
These renders show a premium but oh-so-familiar design. The (alleged) Poco F7 looks quite minimal. There are flat borders around it, and thin bezels wrap the screen — nothing to write home about if you want to pose as a flagship phone. Its camera unit seems to be the only thing that stands out, which is split diagonally through the middle.
It looks surprisingly well-made, and the metallic rim going through the middle adds a level of charm that most flagship devices are missing these days. There’s also a green neon glow emanating from the camera module, but it’s hard to tell if it’s RGB or just an accent. Let’s not jump to any conclusions yet.
The look of this latest Poco Xiaomi mobile resembles a new Redmi phone that recently surfaced in China. It’s called the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro, one of the first devices with the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip and a 7550mAh battery. We have seen reports that the Poco F7 could be the very same device with the nameplate switched out. These images attest to the same theory.
If the Turbo 4 Pro and Poco F7 turn out to be identical, we’ll see the same SD 8s Gen 4 chip on the Poco device when it goes official. Of course, it will also borrow the screen from the original device: a 6.83” 1.5k AMOLED clocked at a 120Hz refresh rate producing 12-bit colors.
We won’t be surprised, though, if the Poco F7 cuts down the battery capacity ever so slightly. After all, there are regulatory hurdles outside China that the company has to go through before making the device official. Some regions won’t allow the Poco F7 to have a 7550mAh battery due to valid safety concerns.
Some markets in Asia are reported to have a 6550mAh battery on the Poco F7, but there’s no reason whatsoever to suspect that the charging speed will be downgraded from 90W. This handset might also share its camera setup with the Turbo 4 Pro. There’s no official word on its price or availability as of now, but we’ll keep an eye on those details and keep you posted in case something new comes up.
