The camera upgrades may have hit a limit on the Xiaomi 18 series. Apparently, all three phones in the lineup are getting the same optical setup this time. We are talking dual 200MP sensors and a 50MP ultrawide on the Xiaomi 18, 18 Pro, and 18 Pro Max. There is some context that you need to be aware of. Here’s everything we know.

We’ve come across a leak on X that is from a prolific leaker known as @that_Kartikey. His track record speaks for itself. That’s why the leak is getting a lot of attention. The post on X confirms the cameras on all three devices in the Xiaomi 18 series. We’ll put the post somewhere below, so you can read it yourself.
These phones seem to have three cameras each: 200MP main camera + 200MP periscope telephoto + 50MP Ultrawide. There’s no rank disparity, at least on paper. The camera setup can’t get any better, literally. Any sane person would wonder if this would devalue the pricier phones.
Well, the camera setups are not separated by sensor sizes or resolution. But there is one thing on the main camera that makes one phone’s photos better than others. LOFIC technology gets better per rank. The same setup is used on each device, but the base Xiaomi new 5G model doesn’t have a LOFIC main camera.

There’s LOFIC 2.0 on the Xiaomi 18 Pro in the middle. The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will have the absolute best LOFIC 3.0 tech. Some who don’t know what LOFIC is can simply think of it as hardware for better HDR performance on the camera. LOFIC is “Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor.”

They put capacitors next to the photo diodes on the sensor that catch overflow energy from each photon that’s captured. So instead of blown-out highlights, you get near-perfect calculated High Dynamic Range every time you click a photo.
The “rammagadon,” as the industry puts it, will spike the Xiaomi 18 series price. The leakers are still trying to figure out the exact figures, but European models are probably going to take the biggest hit. The trio will launch in China sometime in September.
