Xiaomi 18 Pro Surfaces in New Leak with Significant Camera & Battery Upgrades

The rumor mill has started to put together the specs on the Xiaomi 18 Pro. There are still many months left before the newcomer’s actual debut. But that doesn’t stop the leakers from peeping behind the curtains. We have some new details about the Xiaomi 18 Pro, which were reported on Weibo today.

Digital Chat Station said the battery size has gone up on the Xiaomi 18 Pro. They’ve swapped out the 6,300 mAh cell of the older 17 Pro model. The new capacity will be 7,000 mAh. That number has become standard among Chinese flagships.

We have seen 7,000 mAh phones last more than two days. That alone makes this Xiaomi Flagship new mobile a worthy upgrade, but there’s more. The yearly upgrade package is supposed to boost performance as well. We are hoping to see a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chipset here.

The leaker didn’t say anything about the chipset, though. He does, however, write about the dual 200MP cameras on his post, possibly found inside the Xiaomi 18 Pro. We’ve heard some other sources talk about the same thing. So this must be legit.

This newcomer could actually have a 200MP main shooter and a 200MP periscope telephoto unit on the same camera island. That’s an insane upgrade. The maximum resolution on the older Xiaomi 17 Pro was 50MP for all the lenses. Those cameras sat on a rear display. They couldn’t go overboard with the optics for the sake of this new feature.

Some essentials were also covered in DCS’s post, like the waterproof rating. This newcomer is possibly designed to target an IP69 rating or at least an IP68 rating. There will be wireless charging here. It’s a flagship phone, so it will probably make use of an Ultrasonic fingerprint reader again.

It’s said that Xiaomi could bring back the rear display, which was first featured on the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra and later reappeared on the Xiaomi 17 Pro/Pro Max. It could become a permanent feature of this lineup. But we’ll obviously need more substantial proof to make a definitive claim about it. Keep watching the news for updates.
