Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12 Ultra Casings Leaked in Hands-On Photos

We are only a couple of days away from the official launch of the Xiaomi 12 flagship series. Leaks surrounding the Xiaomi 12 have been few and far between because Xiaomi has kept a lid on this project. But some details were bound to come out at the last minute. The final round of leaks gives us a hands-on look at Xiaomi 12 back panels.

The photos were leaked by a source based in China, featuring three casings that belong to the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and Xiaomi 12 Ultra. Although they're not complete models, the rear panels present a fair design idea.

The Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro have a run-of-the-mill design — chamfered slabs with camera rectangles. The camera islands have cutouts for three lenses and an LED flash cluster. This layout perfectly aligns with the handful of product images that WhatMobile has previously reported.

Every passing year, the camera designs of the brand's top-end flagships in the Xiaomi phone price list become more radical and polarizing. Mi has ditched the tiny screen seen on the previous Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra. But Xiaomi 12 Ultra's might be the most elaborate and striking yet.

The camera plate now stretches all the way across and one-third the length of the casing. A circular housing sits on top of this rectangle with seven cutouts for different modules. The giant cutout in the center is intended for the primary camera. And the rest house a complex array of periscope, wide-angle, standard telephoto, and LED flash modules. We'll find out more when the series debuts on December 12 in China.
