The first quarter of 2022 will be a busy time for Xiaomi since the phone-maker is preparing to bring two new smartphone lines to the global market — the flagship Xiaomi 12 series and the budget Redmi Note 11 lineup. the brand has yet to comment on the Xiaomi 12 Pro releases officially. But the phones keep popping up in public certifications and such. Most recently, the benchmarks for the international edition of the Xiaomi 12 surfaced.

You can find the Xiaomi 12 on the Geekbench 5 database (a popular cross-platform benchmark) under the model number "2201123G." Xiaomi has previously registered this exact model with Indonesian authorities. Of course, it was a connectivity certificate that lacked any system specs. But the Geekbench 5 listing gives us the raw benchmark data and some hardware details.

First off, the Xiaomi 12 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 at its heart (no surprises there.) It's the latest, most cutting-edge powerhouse from the American chipmaker. It's specified with its codename 'Taro' in the documentation.

The chip on the new 5G Xiaomi mobile is paired with at least 8GB of multitasking memory and MIUI x Android 12. The currently China-exclusive Xiaomi 12 series also includes a 12GB variant. But it remains to be seen if it will be launched outside Xiaomi's home market.

Pre-release benchmarks are rarely accurate. But for what it's worth, the Xiaomi 12 manages to hit 711 points on single-core and 2834 points on multi-core tests. Also, note that the Xiaomi 12 will be joined by a global Pro model this year. Last year's Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro was a China-only device.
