Vivo Y500 Pro Tipped to Launch Mid-November with 200MP Samsung HP5 Camera

Vivo is on a hot streak, releasing premium devices one after another. The company wrapped up the V60 lineup and introduced the Vivo X300 family within the same month, and as we speak, it’s working on the Vivo Y500 Pro. A new leak says it may use a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP5 sensor, which is curious. Here’s what we know.

The leak was seen on a Chinese social media post on Digital Chat Station’s account. So it’s coming from a trustworthy source. This tispter has a solid track record, and he’s truly worth his salt in the leak circles. Anyway, his report says the Vivo Y500 Pro may launch in mid-November.

The basic Y500 has been roaming the global market since September, so it shouldn’t take them long to bring the Y500 Pro to life. We assume the “Pro” in its moniker means better hardware and a slightly higher price. DCS thinks Y500 Pro still falls in the midrange. Let’s hope that’s true.

The post claims this newcomer will be practical and durable. Vivo had confirmed earlier that the Y500 Pro carries a 200MP camera, and the leaker said the same thing in today’s post. But it wasn’t clear what sensor type they are going to use. DCS hints at ISOCELL HP5.

That’s the same HP5 200MP CMOS Oppo Find X9 Pro uses for its periscope telephoto shooter. Vivo isn’t stretching the bill that far with the Y500 Pro, so it’s a safer bet that the 200MP sensor will be mounted under the Main camera. The Vivo new 5G model is sounding more and more like the Vivo V60e they recently unveiled.

It will not be a big stretch to assume that the Vivo Y500 Pro is just a rebranded V60e. There’s no confirmation yet, but if it does, you can expect the following features on it. The “e” model debuted with a 6.77” AMOLED, 2.5K resolution, and 120Hz refresh rate. This is a premium display with uniform, thin bezels.

It runs a new Dimensity 7360 Turbo chip wired with RAM and storage as low as 8GB and 128GB. Of course, the main camera is a 200MP sensor, and right next to it, you have an 8MP ultrawide. The selfie snapper is 50MP. They mounted a 6500mAh battery inside and a 90W wired charging kit. Let’s see how far the Y500 Pro strays from these features. The teaser spree will begin soon, so keep watching the news.
