Vivo's flagship X70 series is only a few months old, but the popular phone-maker is already working on a sequel line. Featuring the Vivo X80 Pro, X80, and X80 Pro+, the upcoming X80 series has been leaked online. Trusted industry sources published the chip, camera, and pricing details for the X80 Pro.
Courtesy of the Chinese phone leaker Digital Chat Station, we learn that the Vivo X70 Pro's successor has the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 at its heart. It’s a competitive flagship chip that reportedly rivals Apple’s cutting-edge A15 Bionic platform. The System-on-Chip hasn’t debuted inside a phone yet. But rumor has it that the X80 Pro will be the first phone to rock the Dimensity 9000. Vivo has already teased a mystery phone (presumably the X80 Pro) that uses this chip.
Oppo, another BBK-owned brand, recently introduced a custom image signal processor called MariSilicon for their latest flagship smartphones. And Vivo seems to have taken a page out of the same playbook. The Vivo X80 series will feature a new V1 ISP housed inside the chipsets. In contrast to the default image processor, the V1 is supposed to offer more powerful image processing and reduced power consumption.
Vivo X80 Pro isn’t just the first to bring the new Dimensity silicon to market at a premium Vivo mobile price, but also the debut model for Sony’s new IMX 8-series image sensor. It’s a 50MP module, paired with three 12MP lenses (designed for ultra-wide, standard telephoto, and periscope-style zooming.)
Vivo is also bumping up the wired charging speed to 80W and the wireless support to 50W. The improved charging tech powers a 4700 mAh battery. You get at least 8GB of fast memory and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Vivo X80 Pro could start from CNY 5,699 (~ Rs. 161,000.)
