Vivo X80 Specification Sheet Detailed in a Last-minute Leak; Cutting-edge Chip, Huge Display

We’re only a day away from the official launch of the Vivo X70 Pro’s successor. The upcoming Vivo X80 Series has already appeared in official promos and teaser trailers, highlighting its design and core features. But a last-minute leak just uncovered the detailed specification sheet of the X80.

Let’s talk design and dimensions first. Most mainstream phone-makers have made their baseline flagships more compact this year. Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi are all offering their standard flagship phones in 6.1-6.2” screen sizes. With the colossal 6.78” curved display on the Vivo X80, Vivo is going in the opposite direction.

The camera island gets a similar treatment, and it stretches across the width of the backplate in the shape of a black rectangle. A second circular housing sits on this rectangle, containing a cluster of three lenses. We’re looking at 50MP 1/1.56” f/1.76 wide, 12MP 2x telephoto, and 12MP ultra-wide cameras. Vivo offers the X80 in orange, blue, and black colors.

The AMOLED screen of the new Vivo flagship mobile features a 1080P resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and an in-display fingerprint reader. MediaTek Dimensity 9000 is at the heart of this phone, powered by a beefy 4500 mAh cell. Vivo has ramped up the charging support to 80W, and it should cut down on charging durations. Plus, there’s a custom image processor inside that MediaTek chip. So you can expect upgrades in photography and videography.

OriginOS x Android 12 runs on the Vivo X80. And it comes in two storage variants — 12GB+256GB and 12GB+512GB. We’ll find out the price when the phone officially drops.
