Tecno has just introduced a range of new smartphones, namely, Camon 20 Premier 5G, Camon 20 Pro 5G, Camon 20 Pro, and the base Camon 20, all of which bear high-performance components, super-stable cameras, and unparalleled designs. Here are detailed reviews on all the new devices.

Tecno Camon 20 Premier 5G

As the name suggests, Premier 5G ranks highest in the entire foray of Camon 20 devices. The camera configuration under its pentagonal module is a sight to behold. It starts with an RGBW primary 50MP camera, equipped with a 23mm f/1.8 lens and sensor-shift OIS; featured alongside is a 108MP 13mm f/2.2 ultra-wide camera with auto-focus and macro support.

Then comes a tertiary 2MP sensor providing a bokeh effect to images. The phone boasts laser autofocus technology and an octa-ring flash as the crowning features of its cameras. Lastly, a solid 32MP selfie shooter rounds out Premier 5G’s camera setup.

The company has kitted the Premier 5G phone to an absolute max with hardware such as a stunning 6.67-inch 2400x1080px AMOLED screen, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an under-display fingerprint scanner. On top of that, the device features a robust 5,000mAh battery that recharges at 45 watts.

MediaTek’s latest Dimensity 8050 engine resides at the core of Camon 20 5G Premier with 8GB of physical RAM and 512GB of built-in storage. Serenity Blue or Dark Welkin are the only color options for the phone.

Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G & Camon 20 Pro

Unlike the Premier 5G, Camon 20 Pro does not have a raised camera module or as impressive a sensor setup. The 4G and 5G variants have similar 64MP primary shooters paired with 2MP macro sensors. However, the 5G model has an advent OIS stabilization with a 2MP bokeh lens. In the 4G device, users will only get QVGA as a tertiary sensor.

Camon 20 Pro 5G and 20 Pro have different SoCs. The former has MediaTek’s new 6nm Dimensity 8050 chipset, while the latter includes almost as efficient Helio G99 SoC. Both newcomers have similar 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

When facing the front, Camon 20 PRO devices flex 6.67-inch AMOLED screens bearing fast 120Hz refresh rates, fully immersive screen-to-body ratios, and minimal punch-hole cutouts for 32MP selfie cameras. They both have 5000mAh batteries and 33W charging support.

Tecno Camon 20

The base Camon 20 variant stands out with a unique design language. It has three camera silos sticking out of the shell, and the vertically stacked lenses have glorified text-infused rings. The configuration is the same as the Pro model, though — 64MP primary, 2MP Macro, and QVGA sensor.

Under the screen’s punch hole resides a 32MP selfie camera. With support for a 120Hz refresh rate, Camon 20 boasts an equally impressive 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with minimal bezels and a high screen-to-body ratio. Instead of a glorified high-efficiency 6nm chip, the phone has an old 12nm Helio G85 Chip, so expect the phone to run out of juice quicker.

Paired with two Predawn Black and Serenity Blue colorways, the phone has a third color option called Glacier Glow. The phone runs Android 13 x HiOS 13 energized by a 5000mAh battery (33W Supported).

All four models are due for a global release, commencing with regions spanning across Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Southern Asia. However, prices may vary across borders, respective to their regulatory charges. Tecno will soon confirm official pricing details for their new devices.
