Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 Certification Listing Reveals Wired Charging Speed

The battery size on the Galaxy Z Flip 7 was already upgraded to 4,300 mAh. So it’s very unlikely that they’ll change it again this year. Samsung won’t be compelled to boost the charging speed either if there’s no increase in the cell capacity. A certification just confirmed the input speed supported by the Galaxy Z Flip 8.

This news would probably disappoint some of you. The clamshell Flip 8 from Samsung will keep the same old 25W wired charging speeds that we’ve had since the Flip 4. 3C in China has passed a phone with the code Samsung SM-F7760. It’s definitely the next Z Flip device.

Anyway, the listing on the Chinese 3C database had all the input voltage/amperage ratings for the latest Samsung Flip model. The phone can officially draw power from a 5V x 2A (10W) adapter. Or it will recharge over a 9V 1.67A (25W) wired input.

This is an official certification, so the numbers are set in stone. And it’s not just for the Chinese market. The entire global stock has the same 25W wired charging for an alleged 4,300 mAh battery. At least there’s some good news for us fans, and it came from 9to5Google.

It’s not that Samsung has put zero effort into the Galaxy Z Flip 8’s battery. Yes, the capacity is kept the same, but the power pack is a little thinner and lighter. And that will help Samsung reduce the Z Flip 8’s weight and thickness. The pattern is recognizable.

We saw the same thing happen with the Z Fold 7. That device kept the same battery size as the last generation. But there was a huge thickness and weight reduction last year. Their Z Fold 7 is just 8.9mm thin when folded, and it’s one of the thinnest consumer Folds on the market right now.

The Z Flip 7 had no such change. It was just some new hardware wrapped in an older chassis. Galaxy Z Flip 8 will be at least 10% thinner and lighter. That puts the phone close to the 12.33mm (folded) range at only 169 grams. Keep watching the news for more updates.
