Samsung Galaxy S26 Series Nears Launch; 60W Charging & Five Big Upgrades to Expect

Several leaks have suggested that the Galaxy S26 series debut has been delayed, but there’s still a chance the company may stick with its original plan. The launch could happen on the January/February schedule, and from what we have gathered so far, these are the changes you can expect with the series.

We hear Samsung is throwing Exynos into the mix, again. They may have an Exynos 2600 2nm chip ready by the time the Galaxy S26 comes out. Leaks say they are making good progress on it, and this could be the first consumer-ready silicon built around that 2nm process node.

There are rumors as well about the privacy display upgrade for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The Ultra already has that glare-free screen, and now there’s a user accessible privacy glass coming to the phone that should keep our sensitive information safe from prying eyes.

The camera upgrades usually come in the form of software tweaks, but not this time. Samsung Vice President (Mobile eXperience division) said they have new camera sensors ready for Samsung's latest flagship model with wider apertures. They will collect more light and give better image quality, even in dark environments.

This is the year Samsung finally listens to the fans and gets rid of the slow 45W charging speeds. It’s said that the Galaxy S26 Ultra might be bumped to 60W fast charging, which isn’t nearly enough to compete with some Chinese phones out there, but fans are still relieved to hear this news.

Samsung already has the best mobile AI suites in the form of Awesome and Galaxy AI. But they are not stopping here. They are mounting predictive AI on top of everything else the phones already have. It’s a guess, but it could be an Algorithmic AI that proactively suggests activities and tasks and doesn’t really need manually written input.

There were reports previously that said Edge would replace the Plus. But as we got closer to launch, the truth spilled. Galaxy S26 Plus is still on the way, and the series still consists of the usual S26, S26 Plus, and S26 Ultra formatting. Apparently, there’s no “Pro” model to disrupt the hierarchy. Still, we advise taking this news with a pinch of salt until further confirmation.
