A video leak reveals something very interesting about the upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge. From what we’ve gathered so far, this device is allegedly slated for May 13th, and right on the heels of its debut, a leaker that goes by the handle @techdroider posted the phone’s hands-on video on X and compared it with the Galaxy S25 Ultra, iPhone 16, and 16 Plus.
The video doesn’t feature the real Galaxy S25 Edge but a plastic dummy with accurate dimensions. This phone was first seen at the Galaxy Unpacked event in January, where Samsung officially revealed its plans to make the device 5.84mm thin. The leaked video by X user adds more context to the phone’s thickness by comparing it to normal flagships.
In the first few seconds of the video, the dummy Galaxy S25 Edge appears side by side with its S25 Ultra sibling. The phone appears razor-thin in comparison and slightly small in terms of screen size. It’s almost as thin as the S-pen that lives inside the S25 Ultra.
The leaker then pits the Galaxy S25 Edge against the thin iPhone 16, showing the size difference in a top-down view. It’s curious how similar the Edge’s camera island looks to the iPhone. An iPhone 16 Plus appears beside the S25 Edge in the following clip, and their dimensions seem almost identical. That means its screen size might be 6.7 inches. As leaks solidify, speculation around Samsung mobile prices for the S25 Edge grows among enthusiasts.
As you can tell, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is limited to only a dual-lens configuration on the back, unlike its other siblings with three cameras. The Edge clearly lacks the versatility of its non-thin alternatives, but the phone more than makes up for it with the rumored 200 MP Main camera.
Even though there’s no telephoto lens on the Galaxy S25 Edge, the 200MP shooter will provide more than enough pixels for decent digitally zoomed shots. Rumor has it that this thin device will only come with a 3900mAh battery with 25W charging, a trade-off that only a few buyers will be able to tolerate. Samsung expects limited demand for Galaxy S25 Edge, so it’s only producing 40,000 units for an initial test in markets like China and Korea.
The company might eventually release this phone in other markets if people showed enough interest in this device. However, at the expected 1200 to 1400 Euro price tag, the Galaxy S25 Edge will be a hard sell. If you are curious about this newcomer, stay tuned for its online launch event on May 13th to find out the S25 Edge’s specs, price tag, and availability.
