Samsung Galaxy A27 Official Listing Confirms Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, Minor Downgrades

Many await the Samsung Galaxy A27. It has been the subject of leaks for months, with no sign of an official launch anywhere near on the calendar. But Samsung Czechia decided that it was time to break the silence. They’ve now officially listed the phone on their site with all the specs.

The website is still up, by the way. So the A27’s listing was no accident. We hesitate to call it an official launch, but the phone will definitely show up in more regions soon, and we’ll cover it as the “official debut” then. The phone will eventually end up in Pakistan, so this is a heads-up.

The official details aren’t too far off from what the rumor mill has been claiming all along. The Galaxy A27 does have the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 that it borrowed from last year’s A36 in the upper rank. You either get 6GB RAM or 8GB if you pay more. The same goes for storage.

The newcomer’s base storage is 128GB, upgradable to 256GB. They removed the notch, which is good news. The screen now has a punch hole where they put a 12MP selfie sensor (vs. 13MP on A26). They still need to put some work into the screen bezels, but otherwise, this 6.7” AMOLED at FHD+ resolution is apt for the A27. Here is the complete Samsung price list, covering the newest Galaxy A, S, and Z series phones in Pakistan.

The superAMOLED also has a 120Hz refresh rate. The A27 may have a side fingerprint reader (the position is unclear in the spec sheet). There are definitely three cameras on the back, and some tweaks in the lens module, just to spice up the design.

The main camera you’ll be using the most of the time is 50MP. There’s only a 5MP Ultrawide unit. A 2MP macro sensor is found in the third lens. A26 users must have caught the downgrade. The A26 had an 8MP ultrawide shooter, so seeing a 5MP unit on the A27 is a letdown.

There’s more bad news. This newcomer is also less water-resistant than the older version. The A26 had IP67, and the A27 is only rated IP64. The phone does have the new One UI 8.5. The battery is stuck at 5000mAh with a 25W charging speed. The alleged base price for the Galaxy A27 is €349 (~PKR 112,000).
