Samsung Galaxy A17 5G Quietly Debuts with Refined Design & Three Color Options

The Galaxy A16 was unveiled in October last year. Surprisingly, Galaxy A17 has made an official debut two months early. The phone silently appeared on Samsung’s website in Ireland, where it’s now available for pre-orders and is ready to be shipped by August 11th.

Samsung’s financial report did leave a clue about an early launch of its Galaxy A17, but we didn’t expect it to arrive so soon. Now that the 5G version has gone official, the Galaxy A17 4G shouldn’t be too far behind. We’ll be hearing the good news any day now.

Both 4G and 5G versions will share the same features, except for different antenna bands and the chipset. Samsung’s Irish site has provided the newcomer’s official price tag and color options. Here’s a brief overview of what to expect from the latest Galaxy A model.

The official webpage showed three colors for this phone, the same options we saw in the early leaks: Black, Blue, and Gray. These are the only three choices this year. Samsung's budget new model's design has been facelifted once again, and the cameras are now consolidated into a single module.

Samsung didn’t list the A17’s specifications on its landing page, but we found most of its details, thanks to a handful of leaks from the past month. Retailer listings that popped up all across Europe have confirmed a 6.7” AMOLED on its front side with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1080p resolution.

Galaxy A17 5G has the same exact processor as last year, which is an Exynos 1330 with 8GB RAM and 256GB max storage. The leaks didn’t mention the operating system, but we suspect it’s running the old Android 15 version and One UI 7 out of the box.

The 50MP main camera on Galaxy A17 5G may or may not have hybrid OIS stabilization; we may have to wait for official specs to confirm. A 5000mAh battery is mounted inside this phone, and you can plug it into a 25W adapter. Galaxy A17’s price, as per the official pre-order page, is €239 (~PKR 78,000).
