Samsung Galaxy A13 4G and 5G: Updated with May 2023 Security Patch

Sohail Akhtar

Latin American regions received the May 2023 security patch early for the Samsung Galaxy A13 4G. While other international markets experienced a slight delay, they have now joined the ranks, receiving last month's patch for the 5G and 4G variants of the A13. Here’s an overview of the contents of the update.

Samsung Galaxy A13 4G and A13 5G models receive mention-worthy software updates carrying firmware A135FXXU4CWE5 and A136BXXS4CWE1, respectively. Their highlighting appeal is the much-anticipated May 2023 security patch, addressing over 70 security vulnerabilities and fortifying the devices against malicious threats.

The latest update for the 4G A13 is cycling through Germany, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine, while the Galaxy A13 5G update has already debuted in Thailand. Other countries, including Pakistan, should receive this update shortly. Upon availability, your Galaxy A13 will send you an alert.

If you miss the alert or want to check the availability manually, navigate to Settings >> Software Update tab, and press “Check for Updates.” A detailed overview will pop out with a file size mentioned at the bottom. Tapping on the “Download and Install” button will reboot your Samsung budget new model.

The latest update may not introduce new feature enhancements, but Galaxy A13 4G and 5G users can have peace of mind knowing that their devices are up to date with the May 2023 security patch. The firmware utilizing the latest patch remains capped at OneUI 5.1. Since it has already received two major Android updates, the phone seems unlikely to bag Android 14 next year.
