The GT and Neo flagships from Realme branched off last year. Now they both serve different segments. GT is higher-end. They want “Neo” branding to reflect affordable gaming devices. Well, they already made the GT 8 series official in October, and it seems they’ve just started working on the Realme Neo 8.
There was a leak that brought Realme Neo 8’s specs to our attention yesterday. The battery size is unbelievable. The source didn’t exactly give up the name of this device, but experts agree it could be the alleged Realme Neo 8. The specs definitely fit its description.
DCS said that the phone is a midrange performer. It hit 3.3million on the benchmark. It’s obviously one of the higher-end models. You may have heard rumors about a slightly underclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 alternative to the original Elite chip. The leaker believes Realme Neo 8 will use that same SoC.
The screen will be your standard size. The Realme latest Neo model’s apparently built around a 6.78” OLED that has LTPS technology and a flat profile. The resolution is probably capped at 1.5K. It may belong in the affordable class, but they are outfitting it with the flagship ultrasonic fingerprint.
DCS said the battery is very large on the presumed Neo 8. It starts with the number “8.” He didn’t tell the exact size. Let’s just expect the phone’s battery size to be equal to or above 8000mAh capacity. Realme Neo 7 only had a 7000mAh cell, so it’s already a big enough upgrade.
Also, the leaker dropped a hint that its camera is only 50MP. That’s a big deviation from GT 8’s setup. But we assume Neo 8 is sticking with its forerunner’s hardware. That also includes an 8MP ultrawide and a 16MP selfie. Again, this phone is from their gaming branch, so the camera isn’t a priority.
This is one of the newer phones, so Realme UI 7 and Android 16 may show up on the Neo 8. The leaker didn’t provide any details on the launch. But the last model was revealed in December 2024. Realme Neo 8 will drop in the same timeframe next month. We now wait for the company to make the announcement.
