Realme Neo 8 Grabs 3C Certification, Officially Passed with 80W Fast Charge Support

Realme GT series was refreshed months ago, but not the Neo lineup. The company just got the Realme Neo 8 certified in China, and the official 3C listing has confirmed the true charging speeds of this handset. A leak gave away some of its other specifications. Here’s all we know about it so far.

3C approved the Realme Neo 8 in China, and the listing had the usual charging input ratings right next to the model code. RMX8899 seems to be the number associated with this new device. One of the columns on the 3C database showed exactly the kind of input Neo 8 uses.

The battery inside this handset can pull at least 11V and 7.3A from the wall. That rounds up to be about 80W charging. That number fits the pattern. The Realme GT 8 Pro has 120W support. And they bring it down to 100W on the basic Realme GT 8.

The Neo 8 falls in line; therefore, Realme smartphone prices vary widely depending on the model and region. It ranks lower than the vanilla GT 8, so the charging speed drops to 80W. 3C didn’t have anything else to say about this newcomer. There is one report from Digital Chat Station that just turned up on the internet, and it had all the details we needed.

There is a big 8000mAh battery on the Realme Neo 8. It’s also supposed to use the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip, which is the weaker version of the original 8Elite Gen 5 that’s popular on flagship phones right now. Of course, all of this is built around an AMOLED screen.

Digital Chat Station has touted that this newcomer will use a Samsung LTPS AMOLED at 1.5K resolution. There’s probably an ultrasonic fingerprint on the phone’s screen. Realme Neo is a performance gaming line, so the display is also supposed to be massive on the device.

The leaker had more to give away, apparently. Realme Neo 8 is obviously cheaper than the others, but it’s still a near-flagship device and absolutely safe from dust and water ingress. DCS says it has an IP68/IP69 rating. We are trying to spot more details about the Realme Neo 8 on the internet. Keep watching the news for updates.
