Realme Neo 8 Launches with Bold Design, 8000mAh Battery, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5

The Neo lineup has been updated once again with just a slight delay. The new model is called Realme Neo 8, and it has launched in the Chinese market before any other. Its battery and chipset are the specs getting the most attention. The design is obviously very aggressive, since it’s a gaming phone.

This newcomer has a metal build and an IP69 rating. The antenna bands on the side rails are a dead giveaway. There’s a square module on the back where three cameras lie. The primary one is a 50MP Sony IMX896 with OIS and all the fancy bells and whistles, like PDAF focus.

The square lens is actually a 50MP periscope telephoto with 3.5X zoom. It wasn’t there last time on the Realme Neo 7. So, this phone is more well-rounded than before, for normal users. The third lens is an 8MP ultrawide, and the selfie is 16MP.

There’s a half-hidden, half-exposed “Awakening Halo” light right next to the camera island. This is one of the more curious design choices. Again, the design is sharp, aggressive, and full of visual anomalies. And that’s exactly the kind of look gamers appreciate. Based on the latest updates of this year 2026, here is the curated news of top models, and Realme price catalog.

Even if the design is not your cup of tea, most will overlook that because of its huge 8000mAh battery (80W charging). There’s also a new Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip at its core that has all the modern technologies of the 8 Elite Gen5, but a lower clock speed (3.8GHz).

It’s still pretty much a flagship handset. It has LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. Realme Neo 8’s system is the new Android 16 x Realme UI 7. You can probably upgrade it to Android 19 down the road. We hear this phone has a 3-year OS update plan.

The screen is a near-bezel-free AMOLED of 6.78” size. It’s big enough, and this year, they upgraded the refresh rate to 165Hz. Sadly, Realme Neo 8 had to let go of the LTPO tech. The big battery will surely compensate for it. The panel itself is a Samsung M14 AMOLED (6500nits). The base cost of the Realme Neo 8 12/256GB is CNY 2,599 (~PKR 103,000).‌
