OEMs nowadays are fighting the fight over who holds the record fast charging speed on their smartphones. Xiaomi boasts the current world record with a 210W fast charging kit under its Redmi Note 12 Discovery. With a charge time of under nine minutes, Xiaomi ranks first among the fastest-charging smartphones in the world. Though, another competitor is on the verge of snatching away the top spot.

Realme is currently at work manufacturing a phone with support for 240W recharge. Oppo’s partner chain has officially tested their technology, juicing a 4800mAh pack in under 8 minutes and 9 seconds, beating Redmi Note 12 Discovery’s most highlighted trait.

Further confirmation of this news comes from a Weibo post showing the OnePlus Ace Pro plugged into a 240W outlet at 24V | 10A. While this technology and its copyrights are officially in place, the actual phone with such specs has yet to arrive. Rumor mill points to Realme GT Neo 5 as the first phone with 240W input.

Allegedly, the upcoming raise to the Realme price catalog abounds with a USB type C 2.1 port. The technology will compete against the likes of Redmi Note 12 Discovery, iQOO 11 Pro, etc., all of which feature charging times in single-digit periods. Infinix is another competitor stepping into the race of ultra-swift plugs with 180W wired charging.

The thunder charge on Infinix can bump the battery from 0 to 50% in 4 minutes. In one of the fastest charging mobiles, Realme has taken the top spot for the first time. Realme 240W charger has output parameters set to 24V 10A. The new tech is to get featured in the flagship lineups and not the cheaper C series. The last C series handset in Pakistan, Realme C35's current price is 50,000PKR.
