The company teased Realme 16 5G with a rear selfie mirror a while ago. And now the phone has gone official in Vietnam. The same region has also seen the launch of the Realme 16 Pro 5G for the first time. One has a horizontal camera design, and the other has a square island. This is all you need to know.

Realme 16 5G
They are calling it the Air Design body. That’s a flat frame with a big radius at the corners. They are obviously going for a Google Pixel look here. And Realme 16 has a matching camera island to go with it. Two sensors are found on the back, and there’s a rear selfie mirror on the right.

No guesswork is needed to align your face with the rear camera when you have a mirror right on the camera island. That’s the feature only Realme 16 has in the lineup. The primary sensor is 50MP with an 86-degree FOV. LumaColor Processing and AI Edit Genie help with photos.

The selfie camera on the screen also seems to be a 50MP shooter. The processing is done on a Dimensity 6400, and with this SoC, you have either 8GB or 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM. By the way, this newcomer’s battery is 7000mAh with 60W fast charging as backup.
The durability rating goes all the way up to IP69K. Flip over the phone, and you are greeted with a 6.57” AMOLED that has 1080p resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. There’s nothing special about this screen, except maybe the display, which has up to 4,200 nits of peak local brightness. The entry cost for the Realme 16 5G (8/256GB) is around $440 (~PKR 123,000).
Realme 16 Pro 5G
It has the usual set of specs, same as the global market, which we already knew. The Pro has a flat AMOLED display. The screen size is bigger at 6.78”, and it has a 1.5K resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate. The screen’s local peak brightness reaches up to 6,500 nits and 1,400 nits in HBM limit.

When we talk about the Realme 16 Pro, its performance is way better because it runs a Dimensity 7300 Max engine. This is a 4nm platform. And the clock speed is 2.5 GHz. The RAM type is LPDDR4X, and the storage is UFS 3.1. This one has 12GB RAM as the only option with 256GB storage.

One thing they have in common is the 7,000 mAh cell. The Pro has a faster 80W charging kit. They have the same Android 16 OS with at least 3 years of OS support down the road. Its Main shooter is a 200MP OIS with only an 8MP Ultrawide lens.
These two newcomers share the same 50MP selfie camera, and Realme 16 Pro’s safety is rated IP66/IP68/IP69/IP69K. Their screens have fingerprint IDs, and each one has dual speakers. But the Realme 16 Pro 5G (12/256GB) obviously costs more, around $560 (~PKR 156,000).
