The Chinese 3C authority has officially cleared the Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro and S27 Ultra. Their certifications leave crumbs about battery specs and charging. Apparently, they’ve put bigger batteries on both phones, but the Pro and Ultra carry the same charging speed.
Galaxy S26 Ultra might just be the last Ultra flagship with a 5000mAh battery. 3C listing for the Galaxy S27 Ultra has rated its true capacity at 5534mAh, which is definitely a meaningful upgrade. They would probably round it off and advertise it as 5700mAh capacity.
700mAh doesn’t appear to be a lot, but this could add more than a few hours of screen time to the Samsung latest S model. The phone is right on track to beat the iPhone 18 Pro Max on endurance. By the way, Samsung is going to keep the 60W super fast power delivery on the S27 Ultra, same as last year.
3C rated the Ultra’s maximum charging input at 20V 3A. Multiply those figures, and you get 60W. Galaxy S27 Pro doesn’t have as big a battery, but it does carry the same 60W power delivery. This handset is completely new to the series, by the way.
It’s actually being positioned as a mini Ultra model. We assume the Pro and Ultra have the same relationship as iPhone Pro and Pro Max. This explains why the Galaxy S27 Pro has a 5087mAh rated battery size. They might just advertise the cell as 5200mAh.
Samsung has proven time and time again that battery size doesn’t matter; optimization does. The capacities aren’t as big as some of the Chinese phones we’ve seen, but the Galaxy S26 Ultra already had one of the longest-running batteries. And it would only get better from this point.
We’ve heard that Samsung may have a display upgrade locked in for Pro/Ultra. They will probably use an M16 OLED. This will also be the first time we see a 2nm Snapdragon chip on these devices. 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro will soon debut and reveal its exact specs on the Xiaomi 18 Pro. Keep watching the news.
