Poco M8 and Poco M8 Pro Spotted in Leak with Launch Window and Core Specs

Xiaomi is to refresh the Poco M series soon. There are at least two devices lined up for next year: the Poco M8 and M8 Pro. Both are global handsets, by the way. There was no solid claim about the series’ launch window until now. Here’s what the latest report showed us.

There was speculation of a mid-January launch for the Poco M8 and Poco M8 Pro, but it seems this rumor is not accurate. Yogesh Brar claims that the phones are due in mid-Q1 2026 instead, which means the launch may happen in February, rather than January.

Of course, the previous theory about the Poco M8 lineup coming in January might still pan out. The former Poco M7 Pro debuted in December 2024 after all. It has already completed a full year in the cycle, so further delay is out of the question for the company.

On the other hand, the basic Poco M7 5G launched in March 2025, so Yogesh Brar’s February timeline for the Poco M8 series is likely. The question that’s left unanswered is whether these devices will debut together or separately, as last time. The Xiaomi price list is expected to remain competitive, offering flagship-grade hardware.

The leaker also gave a few key specs for both phones on the X post. There seems to be a 6.88” OLED screen on the Pro model. It’s 1.5K, and the pixels are pushed at 120Hz. There’s also a chance that this device will show up with an 8MP (secondary) and a 50MP Main camera.

The selfie shooter on the Pro version is pegged at 32MP. A Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 is powering the system, and it’s run by a 6500mAh battery. There’s a 100W charging support for backup. The Poco M8’s setup is rather simple, as it uses FHD+ resolution on a 6.7” OLED.

We might see the same 50MP Main camera on the vanilla M8, but it will only have a 20MP selfie. Of course, the SoC is weaker, and the cell is smaller on this standard model. Poco M8 pulls the load with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3. Its battery is 5520mAh. A 45W charging support will be available on this device.
