Xiaomi Poco M8 Power is supposed to launch in a few days. Someone found references to this device in the Hyper OS firmware code. That was our first clue into the phone’s existence, and that was also the point when leaks started to pile up. But now the company has officially started teasing the M8 Power 5G. They even revealed its launch date.
Next Tuesday is the official launch day for the Poco M8 Power. 4th August, to be specific. They say it has an 80000mAh battery and officially call it a three-day phone, which is a possibility with this kind of capacity. These things vary with usage, though.
Well, you can see the design in the teaser too. The Orange color of the Xiaomi latest Poco mobile was shown in the banner. The camera island is horizontal. It actually spans the full width of the phone, which will make it look like an iPhone from the back. They even copied the Orange color.
It would seem the device has an immersive AMOLED screen, but we didn’t see any specifics on the teaser. The phone’s main camera is going to be 50MP. That’s etched right on the camera island. The Poco phones are usually just Redmi phones in disguise. And the Poco M8 Power is the same.
Redmi Note 17 and Poco M8 Power share the model numbers, so we are assuming the Poco M8 Power will inherit the whole spec sheet from the Redmi Note 17. That would mean this newcomer is built around a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 (4nm) SoC that has 8GB LPDDR4X RAM.
There will be a 7” OLED on the Poco M8 Power, which will be a 1080p panel at a 120Hz refresh rate and glowing at 1800nits peak brightness in isolated spots. Poco M8 Power has already confirmed the 50MP camera, and that’s shared across Redmi Note 17 as well.
Only an 8MP selfie camera is installed on the screen. The 8000mAh battery Poco teased is also found on the Redmi Note 17, which is all the more proof that they are the same devices.
