It’s becoming more and more obvious that the Redmi Note 17 and Poco M8 Power are actually one and the same. We found a leaked video and a couple of photos today in the hands of a user. There are possibly three color options for the handset, and this is what each version looks like.
The video only showed the orange color. Poco M8 Power looks like a cheap replica of the iPhone 17 Pro. But we’ve seen many Poco phones before with a wide camera bar, so the M8 Power is just trying to stick to its roots without looking too much like an iPhone.
The short video didn’t paint the full picture, though. That’s why the source also gave some real-life photos of all three Poco M8 Power color options: Black, Orange, and a shade of Beige. Anyway, we did notice in the video that the Poco M8 Power is unusually large.
That’s probably because it has Redmi Note 17’s screen, which is a full 7” 1080p OLED. The camera layout and the exact lens shape and distribution make it obvious that Xiaomi latest Poco model is a rebadged Redmi Note 17.
We happen to know each and every fact about the Note 17, which can also be interpreted as Poco M8 Power’s spec sheet. It’s built around a Snapdragon 4 Gen 4. It’s a very basic chip that unlocks 5G network support on a phone. And there’s also 6GB to 8GB of RAM here.
The screen on the Poco M8 Power would be a 7” OLED that probably has 1080p resolution at 120Hz. 1800 nits would be the peak brightness. The cameras were less charming on the Redmi Note 17. Poco M8 Power is in the same boat.
There’s just a single unit on the back that actually functions. It’s a 50MP camera. A bokeh 2MP sensor is right next to it. And the selfie snapper is just 8MP. The only thing the Note 17 and M8 Power have going for them is a huge 8000mAh cell that will recharge over a 45W input. August 4th is the official launch date for the Poco M8 Power.
