The Chinese market will welcome the Oppo Reno 16 series on 25th May. They have finally answered the long-burning question about the lineup’s launch date today. The announcement came in the form of a teaser, of course. This is everything we have on the Reno 16 series so far.
They still refuse to show the design pattern of this series, although we have heard that it’s almost similar to the older Reno 15 group. Maybe the next teasers will reveal the appearance. Oppo was generous enough to reveal the launch date in the meantime, which is 25th May, 6 PM CST.
The time converts to Pakistan 3 PM, noon. They didn’t exactly say if it’s a live event or whether it will be streamed to the global audience. Nothing else came up in the new teaser. We can revisit the leaked details to see what exactly is going on inside the Reno 16 lineup.
Two devices are guaranteed, the third is debatable, and the fourth is highly doubtful for the Chinese market. We are keeping an open mind since the older Reno 15 series had four siblings. Anyway, Reno 16 and Oppo latest Pro model are the ones getting launched next week.
Reno 16 seems to be a smaller, more compact version that has a 6.37” screen only. It’s OLED, and there’s 1.5K resolution. This will be a flat panel and has no LTPO. The Reno 16 Pro does have LTPO variable refresh rate on a bigger 6.85” screen (1.5K resolution).
Each phone might carry a metal build. That’s a trait of expensive phones. The Pro has better performance, of course. They plan to use a Dimensity 9500s on it, so it’s basically a flagship. The basic Reno 15 is different as it runs the new Dimensity 8550 with a 3.4GHz boost clock.
Only a 6700mAh battery is given to the base Reno 16. But we can expect at least 7000mAh on the Pro version. 80W charging is supposed to be the same on each handset, but the Pro gets the bonus 50W wireless charging as well. We keep hearing about the “Oppo Bubble” on these handsets. Some say it’s a secondary display on the back of each phone. This will need a bit more research, though. Keep watching the
