Oppo Reno 16 Pro Inches Closer to Global Launch After NBTC Certification

The Reno 16 series will be unveiled in a matter of weeks. And right now, Oppo is making sure that the devices are certified in the listed global countries. Yes, it looks like the Chinese phones will be different from their international variants again. Oppo Reno 16 Pro was certified in Thailand. This is everything you need to know.

The e-commerce watchdog in Thailand just approved the Oppo Reno 16 Pro for a launch in their country. It’s definitely one of the first regions where the series will launch. The plans are a secret, though it is suspected that Reno 16 will launch together with the Pro.

CPH2863 is the model code for the Oppo latest Pro mobile. You can see both of them listed right at the top in this screenshot. The NBTC file wasn’t very helpful for the specs. But at least, you’ll be able to recognize the handset when more certifications start to appear.

We can’t help but suspect a three-way split for the Reno 16 series again, at least for the main devices. There was a Reno 15 Pro Max in the current series, and that model had the biggest screen. But the global Reno 15 Pro got a tiny display, the complete opposite of the Chinese version.

Past leaks say a similar formula might be applied to the Reno 16 Pro. They say its screen is a 6.32” OLED that’s built on top of an Aluminum Alloy Chassis. There’s not going to be any major design change this year. In fact, the rear camera island could have the exact camera placement as the 15 Pro.

By the way, the optical relay might use the same set of cameras. There will be a main 200MP shooter in one of the lenses. 50MP telephoto could also make a comeback, and so will the 50MP Ultrawide lens. We hardly think the selfie camera will get any better than the 50MP sensor the Reno 15 Pro already has.

There were more reports on the battery. It’s possible that the Reno 16 Pro is built around a 6200mAh cell. This phone is not much of an upgrade to look at, but they are willing to add an Action button to the frame. This may or may not be a customizable shortcut button. The confusion might be cleared later. Keep watching the news for updates.
